May on the Farm

This month saw the end of tulips and daffodil season and the beginning of biennial and hardy annuals season! All of these plants are new to the farm since last year everything was timed for the farmers markets starting in June - and farming plants is much different than just having them in your garden.

Balancing blooming plants with planting new seedlings is NO JOKE ๐Ÿ˜… it's a true balancing act that gives me daily lessons in time management! Some farm and client favorites from this month are larkspur, snapdragons, and orlaya.

We started this month off strong with Mother's Day - pre-orders were a great success, as was the Mother Earth Market at Ordinary Fellow Winery in Palisade. Then the rest of the month was focused on retail sales at the farmstand and subscriptions.

Late this month also saw our first wedding of the season - a gorgeous blush theme set at Gateway Canyons Resort. In partnership with Kosi Events and Sweet Kiwi, this destination wedding was truly a stunner!! It made me super excited for the rest of our weddings this season!!!

We wrapped up with a big planting weekend over the Memorial Day holiday - rest of the roses in, and summer annuals planted!

This month was a workhorse and will set us up for the farmers market season starting in June.

Until next time,

Sydney
